15 years of CIECH shares on the Warsaw Stock Exchange

On 10 February 2005, the shares of CIECH S.A. had their debut at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. At the time, the price in the public offering was PLN 24 per share, while PLN 29.60 per share was the price paid at the debut. During 15 years of its presence on the WSE, CIECH increased its revenues by 70 percent.

 

The value of the Group's assets increased three times, from PLN 1.6 billion to PLN 4.9 billion, while its equity by almost 90 percent with its present value of PLN 2.0 billion. Since its debut on the WSE, CIECH has distributed a dividend seven times, allocating more than PLN 750 million for this purpose (PLN 16 – PLN 17 per share). Taking into account this value, the IPO price of the shares and the current stock exchange rate of approx. PLN 40, the rate of return for investors participating in the first public issue has exceeded 135% (PLN 24 as compared to approx. PLN 57).

 

Today, there are seven business lines in the CIECH Group: soda, salt, plant protection products, foams, resins, silicates and packaging. The CIECH Group is one of the largest Polish investors abroad: it is currently implementing, among others, one of the largest investment in its history – the construction of a salt plant in Stassfurt, Germany. In 2018, CIECH acquired a Spanish company, Proplan, operating in the PPP (plant protection products) area.

 

Since 2016, the company has also been listed in the dual-listing system on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
