CIECH Group has taken numerous measures to protect its employees, customers and suppliers against the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic

[to be updated]

In the CIECH Group’s production facilities and companies, a number of measures have been introduced to protect employees' health and minimise the risk of the spread of coronavirus. All Group plants are operating in accordance with the detailed guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Chief Sanitary Inspector, as well as regulations arising from the Coronavirus Act and the state of epidemiological threat introduced throughout Poland.

Our priority is the safety of our employees, suppliers and customers. We also feel responsible for maintaining the supply chains in the Polish economy. CIECH products are indispensible for the operation of numerous key industry sectors in Poland, among others, food, chemical, pharmaceutical and construction segments – and stable business foundations of the Group, translating, for instance, into thousands of workplaces in the country. We make every effort to ensure that our plants maintain their production operations, while having regard to the highest standards of safety. At the same time, we would like to thank all employees of the Group for their responsible and engaged attitude – says Dawid Jakubowicz, President of the Management Board of CIECH S.A.

Out of concern for the safety of its employees, customers and suppliers, and minimising the risk of the spread of coronavirus, CIECH has taken numerous measures, including:

  • an intensive hygiene and safety principles information campaign in all its facilities, in the face of the epidemiological state introduced in Poland;
  • the facilities were additionally provided with disinfectant liquids and personal protective equipment;
  • all persons entering plant premises have been subject to temperature measurement since 17 March, and those with high temperature may not be allowed in;
  • in the event of any suspicion related to the health of its employees, CIECH will immediately implement the most stringent precautions. Even if no disease symptoms occur, any employee who may have been exposed to infection is mandatorily instructed on the recommendations of the Chief Sanitary Inspector and the Ministry of Health, and sent home to isolate him or her from any other employee;
  • disinfection of common areas and selected objects (door handles, handrails, etc.) has been introduced in places most frequented by employees;
  • restrictions on external and internal meetings have been introduced, and teleconferences are being held instead;
  • business trips and entry to the premises by third parties have been kept to a minimum;
  • where possible, employees have been instructed to work remotely (from home, using company equipment);
  • employees are able - where possible - to drive their cars straight to their plant workplaces in order to avoid contact with other employees;
  • new regulations have been introduced for third parties (subcontractors, carriers) with regard to the promotion of the principles of hygiene and the provision of personal protective equipment for guests/subcontractors/carriers;
  • additional regulations have been introduced for third parties (subcontractors, carriers) with regard to admission and staying at the premises of the plant;
  • carriers receive disposable gloves and disinfectants, and the loading itself follows new strict rules, with the maximum possible limitation of any contact between CIECH employees and drivers working for the suppliers and customers of the company.

In addition, comprehensive action plans have been prepared within the Group, depending on possible scenarios for the development of the situation, regarding, first of all, maintenance of employee safety and business continuity of its production facilities.

The current COVID-19 pandemic situation is being monitored on an ongoing basis, and any further measures taken by CIECH and related thereto will depend on the development of the situation.
