The modern Gama locomotive and the new training center at CIECH Cargo – another step towards improving the company's operational efficiency

Under the agreement with Cargounit, CIECH Cargo leased another modern electric locomotive with an access module. The new 111Ed-060 type Gama is already the third locomotive to strengthen the fleet of the CIECH transport company. Moreover, the company is expanding its operations with a new training center. These actions are part of a comprehensive development plan for CIECH Cargo, aimed at increasing operational scale, diversifying service portfolios, and fostering employment growth.

CIECH Cargo, the CIECH Group’s company based in Inowrocław, exclusively utilizes modern electric locomotives, including those equipped with an access module. In addition to Gama locomotives with this module, the company also operates Traxx and Dragon 2 locomotives. The acquisition of such vehicles is one of the elements of the efficiency improvement program for CIECH Cargo's operations.

New Gama

The new Gama acquired by CIECH Cargo does not require an additional diesel locomotive necessary for performing last-mile operations, which involve delivering and picking up a train set from a loading point. As the chemical group's transport company expands its fleet, the availability and quality of services provided to customers are enhanced.

"We have an experienced team, modern locomotives, and well-maintained wagons. Thanks to this, we can guarantee high-quality services, which is appreciated by an increasing number of customers month by month. Modern locomotives, a tailor-made compensation system, and a steadily growing company also attract engine locomotive drivers to our team, allowing us to develop at a good pace in the external market," says Andrzej Pawłowski, President of the Management Board of CIECH Cargo.

Training center and an opportunity for good employment

Recently, CIECH Cargo also announced the establishment of a new training center. This investment will contribute to enhancing the qualifications of the company's employees involved in railway traffic safety, while also increasing the attractiveness of the profession and CIECH Cargo in the job market. Sessions led by highly experienced trainers, access to modern tools supporting rail traffic safety, and the opportunity to acquire new certifications are just some of the possibilities that the training center will offer. Its staff is composed of a highly skilled team of instructors. The training center will also enable regular internal training and periodic briefings, aiming not only to enhance employees’ skills, but also to acquire qualifications related to railway traffic safety. In this way, the company will gain greater control over the training process, while simultaneously reducing costs associated with external service utilization. The establishment of the center is a result of business development and the company's efforts to optimize external service costs, while raising safety standards and improving training processes.

"Thanks to the new tools that will be available to our employees, we will improve safety at every position related to railway traffic," adds Andrzej Pawłowski, President of the Management Board of CIECH Cargo.

CIECH Cargo, headquartered in Inowrocław, employs approximately 260 people and provides railway services with 18 locomotives and 1550 freight cars. The enterprise offers domestic rail transport services in the scope of railcar rental, rail freight transport, operation and maintenance of sidings, as well as railcar repair. Its rolling stock includes modern electric locomotives, such as Bombardier E594 TRAXX, Bombardier E483 Traxx, Newag E6ACTa „Dragon 2”, and Pesa Gama. CIECH Cargo performs approximately 80 percent of the services within the CIECH Group. Thus, the company is building the Group's competitive advantages in the area of logistics and transportation. To increase the scale of its operations and acquire more external orders in the upcoming years, CIECH Cargo intends to use its advantages — experienced staff, a modern fleet of electric locomotives, and full-service facilities for rolling stock maintenance.
