Janikowo, 10 March 2015 - The first stage of the extension of the production capacity of the soda plant in Inowrocław, known as the SODA +200 project, has just ended. The investment of dry salt production intensification has been commissioned for use at the plant in Janikowo near Inowrocław.

Modernization of production plants is one of the main pillars of development of the CIECH Group. The most important project, known as SODA +200, is the development of the production capacity of the soda plant in Inowrocław from the current 600 to 800 thousand tonnes per year. The completed first stage of the investment entails a growth in the capacity of the plant by 60 thousand tonnes per year. The investments implemented under the SODA +200 project contribute to the operational improvement of the production process, they will also contribute to a significant growth in generated profits. The total value of the SODA +200 programme amounts to approx. PLN 265 million.

This is our strong point, we have a great development potential and thanks to that we may be more competitive in global markets. An increase in soda production and sale is a reply to the signals we receive from the market and it constitutes an important element of our business strategy,"  said Dariusz Krawczyk, the President of the Management Board of CIECH S.A.

At the same time, in a nearby plant in Janikowo, an investment ended whose purpose was to intensify dry salt production. In consequence, the production of this type of goods has increased from the current 1 thousand tonnes to 1.7 tonnes of the product per day. This is a reaction to the noted market demand, and in consequence the plant in Janikowo will process all of the produced wet salt, transforming it into high-quality dry salt. The total value of the investment amounts to more PLN 77 million.
