The CIECH Group actively participated in the jubilee 10th Polish Chemistry Congress, which took place on June 13th and 14th at the Lublin Conference Center. The event, themed "Development – Sustainability – Future," has been organized by the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry and remains crucial for the chemical industry in Poland for the past decade. This year, nearly 400 experts from the fields of science, business, industry organizations, and politics from Poland and Europe, including representatives from CIECH, gathered in Lublin. The Group was also honored with the title of Ambassador of Polish Chemistry for its significant contribution to the development of the chemical industry and its commitment to sustainable growth and the future of the sector.

At the 10th Polish Chemistry Congress, speakers from the Polish and international chemical community shared their experiences and presented the latest achievements in chemistry and related fields. Each edition of this event provides an excellent platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and inspiring discussions among representatives of the chemical industry, research institutions, industry organizations, and decision-makers. The congress not only facilitated the meeting of industry leaders but also encouraged actions towards sustainable development and the future of the Polish chemical industry. In this year's edition, the CIECH Group was prominently represented. Kamil Majczak, the President of the Management Board of CIECH S.A., Małgorzata Musińska-Kubis, Head of Maritime Transport in the CIECH Group, and Katarzyna Bieńkowska, Director of the HR and Administration Department in the CIECH Group, participated in the debates.

During the panel discussion – "Decarbonization of Industry - Is It Fully Possible?" on the first day of the congress, Kamil Majczak, the President of the Management Board of CIECH S.A., shared his perspective on the importance of digitization in modern business and its impact on company operations. He emphasized that the CIECH Group is continuously implementing innovations and placing significant importance on digitization. He stated, "as the CIECH Group, we are working on solutions to reduce CO2 emissions, developing new technologies, and already utilizing available ones. We place a great emphasis on decarbonization. Modern solutions can assist us in this process."

During the opening day of the congress, the session on "Efficient Transport in Green Realities" was attended by Małgorzata Musińska-Kubis, Head of Maritime Transport in the CIECH Group. She expressed, "sustainable logistics is a specific attitude and understanding of the essence of things. Together with our partners, we support this idea and its practical implementation, even if initially they are small steps. Ownership, which means taking responsibility for our actions, including those related to logistics in a transforming business, is a core value within the CIECH Group," said Małgorzata Musińska-Kubis, Head of Maritime Transport in the CIECH Group.

The first day of the event ended with the ceremony of awarding the Ambassador of Polish Chemistry to the CIECH Group. Kamil Majczak, President of the Management Board of CIECH S.A. received the title from the President of the Management Board of the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry, Ph.D., Eng. Tomasz Zieliński. During the ceremony, the role of CIECH as a leader in the chemical industry was highlighted, acknowledging its significant contributions and achievements. The company's commitment to sustainable development and its forward-looking approach to shaping the future of the industry were also emphasized. "On behalf of the entire CIECH Group, I would like to thank the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry for the title of Ambassador of Polish Chemistry. At the same time, I would like to congratulate you on the beautiful 35th anniversary and also on the jubilee 10th Congress. I am glad that CIECH – as an international chemical group with a strong position in the industry in Europe – has been recognized for its activities by the Polish Chamber of Commerce. We have ambitious goals as we journey towards decarbonization. Any initiatives that reduce our impact on the natural environment are a crucial element of our business strategy and our commitments within the ESG framework," said Kamil Majczak, receiving the title of Ambassador of Polish Chemistry.

On the second day of the congress, there was a session dedicated to the topic of "Green Competencies - Expectations vs. Reality." During this panel discussion, Katarzyna Bieńkowska, Director of HR and Administration in the CIECH Group, shared information on the company's investments in developing green competencies. "Through cooperation with technical universities, we can create a reservoir of competences. We are open to students, we invite them for internships every year, and a large part of them stay with us permanently. However, it is important education should not be limited to the younger generation alone. It is equally important to invest in the development of employees' competencies within the organization, which CIECH does as part of its ESG strategy. Green competencies concern us all," said Katarzyna Bieńkowska.

At the Polish Chemistry Congress in Lublin, experiences and knowledge were shared, and perspectives for the chemical industry were presented in various areas of the economy and industrial transformation. The successful 10th edition of the congress promises exciting developments for this industry gathering in the years to come.
