The Board of Directors of Ciech S.A. with its registered office in Warsaw (hereinafter referred to as the: “Issuer” or “Company”) hereby informs that on 25th July 2014, the Board of Directors of Soda Polska Ciech S.A. based in Inowrocław (hereinafter referred to as the: “Subsidiary”) notified the relevant trade union organisations of the need for collective redundancies at the Subsidiary. The cause of the projected collective redundancies is the need for organisational changes related to modernisation and automation implemented at the Subsidiary with a view to increasing production effectiveness, including changes in the work organisation (consisting in alteration of the working time system, combination of employee functions and responsibilities, transfer of employees within individual organisational units of the Subsidiary). The purpose of the foregoing was to optimise working time and increase efficiency, and consequently, reduce labour costs of operations, as desired by the Subsidiary.
Within the framework of collective redundancies, the Subsidiary intends to dismiss a maximum of 155 employees in the period from 1st September 2014 to 31st May 2015.
